What is a Coded Readable?

A Coded Readable is a story written so that every word follows a phonics rule the child has already been taught. No guessing, no memorising — just decoding, sentence by sentence.

  1. 01

    Warm up

Each book opens with a short phonics warm-up. The sounds your child will meet on the page, practised first.

  2. 02

    Read the story

A 12-page story uses only those sounds — plus a small set of common sight words. Every page can be decoded.

  3. 03

    Comprehend

The book closes with comprehension questions so your child shows what they understood, not just what they read.

“When a child can read every word on the page, reading stops being a guessing game and starts being a quiet triumph.”
